Japanese surgeon uses projection mapping for liver cancer operation

A 3-D image is directly mapped onto an internal organ model using projection mapping in Kyoto, western Japan, on Oct. 16, 2015. A group of researchers at the state-run university said that day they have developed a device in collaboration with Panasonic Corp. that can directly map onto a patient's liver a 3-D image showing the position of cancer vis-a-vis normal tissue.
