Air pollution in Beijing
High-rise buildings are vaguely seen in Beijing on Oct. 17, 2015, as the Chinese capital was blanketed by heavy smog. Levels of PM2.5 particulates -- small enough to deeply penetrate the lungs -- marked 345 micrograms per cubic meter, according to the website of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. (Kyodo)
