Land ministry mulls preserving regional disaster control tower
Photo taken on Oct. 19, 2015, shows an office at the land ministry's regional bureau in Sendai, northeastern Japan, used as a control tower for reconstructing infrastructure facilities following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. The bureau is considering moving the office to a proposed disaster memorial park in Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture, for preservation. The office is equipped with monitor screens for teleconferencing as well as telecommunications gear, tables, chairs and other equipment. (Kyodo)
