"Kumamon Station" launched in southwest Japan

A signboard reading "Kumamon Station" is unveiled at JR Kumamoto Station in Kumamoto on March 1, 2016. The station will be dubbed "Kumamon Station," after the popular black bear mascot of the southwestern Japan prefecture, until the end of September, as a promotional campaign was launched the same day to commemorate the fifth anniversary of full shinkansen bullet train operations in the Kyushu region.
