U.S. think tank offers A-bomb photos to Hiroshima museum

Photo taken April 13, 2016, shows an image taken from an aircraft soon after the Aug. 6, 1945, atomic bombing of Hiroshima, with numbers given to key facilities in the western Japanese city and the degrees of their destruction in percentages. It was revealed May 19 that Washington think tank, the Stimson Center, has offered to donate a set of the preserved photo panels used to brief American leaders on the impact of the atomic bomb attacks on Japan, including the one seen in this photo, to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum to help remind visitors that nuclear weapons must never be used again.
