Suits against Japan's security law
Plaintiffs, including atomic bomb survivors, head to the Nagasaki District Court in the southwestern Japan city of Nagasaki on June 8, 2016, to file a lawsuit against the state seeking compensation over controversial security laws they believe threaten their right to live in peace. Similar lawsuits have already been filed nationwide in connection with the legislation, which took effect in March. (Kyodo)
