Inventor of Othello board game Hasegawa dies at 83
Photo taken in 2007 shows Goro Hasegawa, the inventor of the Othello board game. Hasegawa died June 20, 2016, at his home in Chiba Prefecture near Tokyo, aged 83. Othello was put on sale in 1973 based on a trial product designed by Hasegawa and about 2 million units were sold in the first three years, according to the website of the World Othello Federation.
