Japan, U.S. announce narrowing of scope of workers protected by SOFA

U.S. and Japanese officials meet in Tokyo on July 5, 2016. The two governments said they have agreed to effectively narrow the scope of U.S. military base workers protected by a bilateral status of forces agreement, over whom the United States has primary jurisdiction with regard to their alleged crimes committed while on duty.
