Okada not to run for re-election as Democratic Party chief
Katsuya Okada, leader of Japan's main opposition Democratic Party, attends a press conference at the party's headquarters in Tokyo on July 30, 2016, to announce that he will not run in the party's leadership race slated for September. Taking responsibility for the party's disappointing showing in an upper house election earlier in the month, Okada said, "It's desirable for the party to have a fresh face to lead the party." (Kyodo)
