Abe leaves for Russia to hold talks with Putin
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (2nd from L) leaves Tokyo's Haneda airport for Vladivostok on Sept. 2, 2016, accompanied by trade minister Hiroshige Seko (2nd from R), who doubles as minister overseeing Japan's economic cooperation with Russia. On the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in the Russian Far East port city, Abe will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin later in the day on economic cooperation and a decades-old territorial dispute that has prevented the two countries from signing a post-World War II peace treaty.
