Court recognizes 2 A-bomb survivors as radiation disease sufferers
Plaintiffs Toshio Mori (L), 91, and Tsutae Takai, 80, attend a press conference in Nagoya on Sept. 14, 2016, after the Nagoya District Court recognized two men, exposed to the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, as sufferers of radiation diseases, overturning the government's rejection of their bid to be certified under standards eased in recent years. The court, however, dismissed similar claims made by two women who were exposed to the Nagasaki atomic bomb. (Kyodo)
