Japan executes 17th inmate in 4 years under Abe gov't
At a press conference in Tokyo on Nov. 11, 2016, Justice Minister Katsutoshi Kaneda announces the 17th execution of a death row inmate in about four years since the current government of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was inaugurated in December 2012. The execution carried out the same day was the first ordered by Kaneda since he assumed his post in August. (Kyodo)
