Japan could declare 1-month virus emergency for Tokyo area

TOKYO, Japan : Japanese economic revitalization minister Yasutoshi Nishimura meets the press in Tokyo on Jan. 4, 2021, as Japan plans to declare another state of emergency in Tokyo and three neighboring prefectures, possibly to take effect for about one month from Jan. 9, to curb the spread of the new coronavirus in view of the unabated uptrend in infections.
