Japan's fastest supercomputer put into force
Oakforest-PACS, Japan's fastest supercomputer, is unveiled to the media at a campus of the University of Tokyo in Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture, on Dec. 1, 2016, as the university and the University of Tsukuba start operating it. According to the bi-annual rankings of the top 500 supercomputers for November, Oakforest-PACS was ranked fifth. (Kyodo)
