Ainu salmon preservation method put into practice
Officials from an Ainu museum hang some 1,400 salmon in cold winds to preserve the fish using a traditional technique of the Ainu indigenous people, in Shiraoi, in Japan's northernmost main island of Hokkaido on Dec. 12, 2016. The salmon will be sold from early May 2017, for around 5,000 yen each. (Kyodo)
