Chief of scandal-hit school repeats Abe donation claim under oath
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga speaks at a regular press conference at the prime minister's office in Tokyo on March 23, 2017. Suga categorically denied a repeated allegation by Yasunori Kagoike, chief of school operator Moritomo Gakuen, that Prime Minister Shinzo Abe donated 1 million yen ($8,900) to the organization. Kagoike, the central figure of a growing political scandal, made the allegation as a sworn witness in the Diet earlier in the day. (Kyodo)
