U.N. rights expert defends report from Japan gov't "hearsay" claim
David Kaye, a U.N.-appointed expert on freedom of expression, speaks at a press conference in Tokyo on June 2, 2017, hitting back at the Japanese government's claim that "hearsay" was behind his recent recommendations for protecting freedom of expression in the country. "It's not based on hearsay, it's based on factual investigation that I conducted and that members of my team conducted," the U.N. rapporteur said. (Kyodo)
