Japanese team tests Moon rover at Tottori Sand Dunes

The Sorato, a Moon rover created by a Japanese team taking part in an international Moon exploration contest, is placed in a hole at the Tottori Sand Dunes in western Japan on Aug. 29, 2017, for communication tests. The team Hakuto, one of the five teams shortlisted in the contest organized by the X Prize Foundation of the United States, checked whether the rover can send videos and photos from an environment simulated to be the Moon surface.
