High school slugger Kiyomiya agrees to join Fighters
High school slugger Kotaro Kiyomiya, the most sought-after player in October's amateur draft, speaks at a news conference in Tokyo on Nov. 16, 2017, after agreeing to join the Nippon Ham Fighters. The Pacific League ballclub won negotiating rights in a seven-way draft-day lottery for the 1.84-meter, 102-kilogram Kiyomiya, 18, who hit 111 home runs as a high schooler -- a total said to be an unofficial Japan record.
