Japan's "Marines" may start off with only 7 amphibious vehicles
File photo taken in February 2015 shows an AAV-7 amphibious vehicle at Camp Pendleton in California. Japan's Defense Ministry said on Dec. 22, 2017, that the delivery of U.S.-made amphibious vehicles to be used by a Ground Self-Defense Force unit modeled after the U.S. Marine Corps has been delayed, just months ahead of the launch of the unit.
