Farewell to pine in Fukushima, symbol of reconstruction

Photo taken on Dec. 27, 2017, shows a pine that survived the devastating 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture. Seen beside the tree are windmills built after the disaster. The pine, a symbol of the city's reconstruction from the March 11, 2011 disaster in northeastern Japan, will be felled later in the day as it has suffered decay. (Kyodo) ==Kyodo
