Okinawa city protests to U.S. over chopper incidents

The Uruma city assembly in Okinawa Prefecture unanimously adopts a resolution on Jan. 11, 2018 protesting the recent forced landings by U.S. military helicopters in the southernmost Japanese prefecture. An AH-1 attack helicopter from the U.S. Marine Corps Air Station Futenma in Okinawa was forced to land in the village of Yomitan on Jan. 8, just two days after a UH-1 helicopter, also from the base, made an emergency landing on a beach on Ikei Island in the city of Uruma.
