S. Korea gov't sued for compensation over wartime labor in Japan
South Koreans representing a group seeking compensation from the South Korean government for wartime labor in Japan meet the press in Seoul on Dec. 20, 2018. More than 1,000 people sued the South Korean government weeks after the country's Supreme Court ordered some Japanese companies to pay damages to South Koreans for forced labor while the Korean Peninsula was under Japanese colonial rule.
