Japan names new era "Reiwa"
Kane Tanaka, who was recognized in March by Guinness World Records as the world's oldest living person at 116, receives a plate of chocolate bearing the name of Japan's new era, "Reiwa," at her nursing home in Fukuoka, western Japan, on April 1, 2019. The new era, announced by the government earlier in the day, will begin May 1 when Crown Prince Naruhito ascends the throne to succeed his father Emperor Akihito. (Kyodo)
