Japan to help fight bushfires in Australia
Japanese Air Self-Defense Force Col. Masashi Ota (C) meets the press soon after a C-130 transport plane, carrying him and other ASDF members, arrived at an airbase in Richmond, Australia, on Jan. 16, 2020, to help fight bushfires raging across the country. Japan sent two C-130 planes to Australia for the mission, undertaken by 70 ASDF personnel under his leadership. (Kyodo)
