Wednesday demonstration in Seoul
Members of a South Korean advocacy group that supports "comfort women" who worked in the Japanese military's wartime brothels hold a press conference in Seoul on May 11, 2020, after a former comfort woman Lee Yong Soo issued a strong rebuke of the group for preaching hatred to young participants and misappropriating donations. The group, known as the Korean Council for Justice and Remembrance for the Issues of Military Sexual Slavery by Japan, said it will continue weekly protest rallies that have been held on Wednesdays since 1992, until the issue is finally settled with Japan.
