Shimogamo Shrine in Kyoto is quiet on May 15, 2020. Aoi festival, one of Kyoto's three largest festivals held annually at the shrine, took place the same day but the famous procession in which about 500 people dressed in traditional attire from the Heian Period (794-1185) was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
