Abductee Megumi Yokota's mother meets press after husband's death
Sakie Yokota, whose daughter Megumi was abducted by North Korea in 1977 at age 13, holds a press conference in Tokyo on June 9, 2020, a day after the funeral of her husband Shigeru Yokota. Shigeru Yokota died on June 5 at age 87, without ever being reunited with his daughter, a symbolic figure in the issue of North Korea's abductions of Japanese nationals in the 1970s and 1980s.
