Nuclear crisis-hit northeastern Japan town
Photo taken Aug. 19, 2020, shows ground-leveling under way for a community building in Futaba, the northeastern Japan town that hosted the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, six months after an evacuation order was lifted in part of the town. Futaba has remained deserted since residents were ordered to evacuate after the nuclear disaster at the plant following the March 2011 massive earthquake and tsunami.
