Northern Japan hotel made of ice
Photo taken on Jan. 17, 2021, in Shimukappu, a northern Japan village known for its cold temperatures falling to as low as 30 C below zero, shows the inside of a dome-shaped hotel whose ceiling, walls, and furnishings such as a bed are all made of ice, unveiled to the media a day before its public opening. Guests of the hotel at Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU spend night inside the dome, 3.5 meters high and 8.5 meters wide, using sleeping bags.
