Japan PM Suga amid coronavirus pandemic
Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga arrives at his office in Tokyo on May 7, 2021, wearing a mask amid the coronavirus pandemic. Later in the day, the Japanese government is set to expand the ongoing COVID-19 state of emergency beyond Tokyo and the Osaka region and extend it to the end of May in a bid to bring down infection cases and ease the strain on hospitals.
