Jawa Moto s.r.o. has headquarters in Tynec and Sazavou. Jawa motorbikes have been imported to India since 1960 and gained on huge popularity to became a legend. Founded by Rustom and Farrokh Irani, the firm Ideal Jawa began importing Jawa motorcycles into India. Recognising the demand, Jawa established a factory in Mysore in 1961. Between 1961 and 1971, Ideal Jawa manufactured the 250 Type 353/04 under licence. Jawa motorcycles quickly earned a reputation for being rugged, simple, and unbreakable. From 1971 till 1996, the Ideal Jawa company manufactured and sold the new motorcycles under the name Yezdi with technical assistance from Jawa. In October 2016, Mahindra & Mahindra, through its subsidiary Classic Legends Private Limited (CLPL), signed a licensing deal to launch motorbikes under the JAWA brand name in India and some other East Asian countries. In November 2018, the Classic Legends launched three motorcycles in India: Jawa 300, Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak. They are manufactured in Pithampur. In March 2019 Jawa opened over 100 original Jawa showrooms in India, in April first new Jawa motorbikes started to be delivered to customers. (CTK Photo/Krystof Kriz)
