Liberty Ostrava steelworks

Steelmaker Liberty Ostrava launched a tender for the supplier of two new hybrid furnaces which are supposed to replace its four tandem furnaces by 2023 and make the Ostrava steelworks carbon neutral by 2030. The new technology will reduce particulate and carbon emissions by 60 percent and more than 50 percent, respectively. It is the first project of its kind in Europe.
