Omoto Park on the west side of Itsukushima Shinto Shrine has been known for its beautiful cherry blossoms since the Edo Period. These cherry blossoms were depicted by Nagasawa Rosetsu in The Eight Scenes of Itsukushima (Important Cultural Asset) under the title Omoto Cherry Blossoms.
