          In the balustrade of the front of the hall of worship, there is a Shinkyo (mirror of the gods). Pendant paper strips are dedicated under the mirror. There is a stone room dividing the main hall and the hall of worship with bamboo blinds. Paintings of the Sanjurokkasen (36 chosen poets) by Tosa Mitsuoki line the holders in the hall of worship.               The Main Hall of Tomeizan Kofukuji Temple (64 Tera-machi, Nagasaki City), known popularly as Nanking Temple. The temple was founded by the Chinese priest Zhenyuan from Fuliang Prefecture, Jiangxi Province.                 On the left is the Kaguraden of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu (lower hall of worship). At the top of the stairs is the main shrine of Hachimangu. There are 62 steps in total. The Hachimangu that Yoritomo moved from Tsurugaoka is said to have been located under the staircase, but it was burned in a fire in 1193 and moved to the present higher location in November of the same year. The building on the left is the Kaguraden.                   Nagasaki Kiyomizudera Temple

                  This is a distant view of Kiyomizu Temple, said to have been founded by the priest Keijun who came to Nagasaki with a Buddhist statue in 1623. Historical documents state that the Kawarado (tiled temple building) in the centre, which was modeled after Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto with stone handrails surrounding it, was donated by Matsukura Shigemasa, lord of Shimabara Castle. The main temple building was added by Chinese resident He Gaocai in 1668. It is rather uncommon to use an arched doorway other than in the front hallway.                       The Kara Gate stands at the front when going through the Yomei Gate of Toshogu. It looks simple with just white and black, but the sculpture of the Chinese sages carved on panels near the ceiling, and the pillars of the gate are covered with elaborate carvings of dragons going upstream and downstream.
