Bell tower of todaiji temple

The location is the east side of the Daibutsu hall. The present building was built through donations collected by Todaiji Temple and rebuilt by Eisai during the Shogen years (1207-11). The Great Bell,Chion-in Temple

The big bell of Chion-in Temple is seen from the west side of the bell tower. Men and women in kimono are looking at the bell over the iron fence. Also called Yoshimizu's Bell, this is the largest bronze bell in Japan and was cast at Sanjo-Kamanza foundry in 1636. It is 5.4m high, 2.7m in diameter, 29cm thick, and weighs 7.5 tons. Sensoji Temple

This Kannon-do was rebuilt by the third shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu in 1649. The style of construction is koran mitesaki-zukuri. The photograph captures a flock of pigeons flying from Niomon (gate). Higashi Honganji Temple

Taishi-do of Higashihonganji Temple is viewed from the southeast. There are many children around the big water fountain. The Taishi-do took 15 years to build. It was completed in 1895 according to the wishes of the head priest, Otani Kosho. Built in single-story irimoya style with a tiled roof, it is 76m wide, 56m deep, 38m high, and covers 3,800 square metres. This is the Ryukoji main hall completed in 1832, a wooden building roughly 22 metres wide and 27 metres deep. The official name of the temple is Jakkozan Ryukoji. Both the lanterns at the bottom of the stairs and the washing place on the right exist today. Shichimendo is visible above the stairs on the left. It was built in the early Edo Period to enshrine Shichimen Daimyojin of Mt. Minobe-Shichimen-zan. The five-story pagoda is viewed from Toyokuni Shrine (Senjokaku, or One Thousand Mat Hall ) on Tonooka Hill on the east side of Itsukushima Shinto Shrine. Senjokaku Hall was built in 1587 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi for the monthly Buddhist rite of reading of the Senbukyo sutra. The magnificent hall was built in irimoya architectural style with a tiled roof.
