The Shoyoen,Rinnoji Temple

Shoyoen Garden is located on the south side of the main hall at Manganji Temple. It was destroyed by fire in 1871 during the Boshin War. Modeled after Omi-Hakkei, the Chisenkaiyu-style garden remains to this day as a representative garden of the Edo Period. The building on the right, Shiunkaku, was built on the site of Manganji Temple, previously destroyed by fire.==Date:unknown, Place:Nikko, Photo:Usui Shuzaburo?, (Credit:Nagasaki University Library/Kyodo News Images) [Cabinet Number65‐24‐0]
