The Miyanoshita Road

The Miyanoshita Road

This is the point where Hayakawa River flows to the left, about the halfway between Ohiradai and Tonosawa. The street on the upper right opened for car traffic between Tonosawa and Miyanoshita in July, 1887. It is the present National Route 1. The mountain on the right is Yusakayama, the one on the left is the foot of Myojogadake, and in the centre is the ridge of Shiroganeyama.==Date:unknown, Place:Hakone, Photo:Tamamura Kozaburo, (Credit:Nagasaki University Library/Kyodo News Images) [Cabinet Number68‐9‐0]
