      The big bell of Chion-in Temple is seen from the west side of the bell tower. Men and women in kimono are looking at the bell over the iron fence. Also called Yoshimizu's Bell, this is the largest bronze bell in Japan and was cast at Sanjo-Kamanza foundry in 1636. It is 5.4m high, 2.7m in diameter, 29cm thick, and weighs 7.5 tons.
