Well-travelled yeast

Photo taken on May 17, 2021, in Kochi, western Japan, shows Petri dishes containing yeast that was sent into space in 2005 aboard a Soyuz spacecraft and survived being put 6,000 meters under sea this year for four months. The yeast will be used for a Kochi Prefectural Industrial Technology Center project to produce "space and deep sea" sake.
