Premium Hokkaido melons

Photo taken May 24, 2021, shows a pair of premium melons produced in Yubari, Hokkaido and sold for 2.7 million yen ($24,800) in this year's first auction at the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market in the northernmost main Japanese island earlier in the day. The price was about 23 times higher than last year's winning bid.
