Award-winning writer Ikezawa receives French honor
Japanese novelist Natsuki Ikezawa smiles after being honored as an Officier of the French Order of Arts and Letters at the official residence of the French ambassador in Tokyo on May 27, 2021. A winner of the prestigious Akutagawa Prize, the 75-year old was commended for his contributions to introducing French culture in Japan, including writing essays about his five years living in the suburbs of Paris in the 2000s and a translation of "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery into Japanese.
