Award-winning writer Ikezawa receives French honor
Japanese novelist Natsuki Ikezawa delivers a speech after being honored as an Officier of the French Order of Arts and Letters at the official residence of the French ambassador in Tokyo on May 27, 2021. A winner of the prestigious Akutagawa Prize, the 75-year old was commended for his contributions to introducing French culture in Japan, including writing essays about his five years living in the suburbs of Paris in the 2000s and a translation of "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery into Japanese.
