Tokyo Motor Show opens to press

TOKYO, Japan - The Tokyo Motor Show opens to the press at Tokyo Big Sight in Koto Ward in the Japanese capital on Nov. 30, 2011. Japanese automakers unveiled a bevy of electric cars and other green vehicles, reflecting consumers' shift toward conserving resources after the limiting of power supplies in the wake of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. The motor show will be open to the public on Dec. 3-11. (Kyodo)

        Toyota City has introduced Toyota's SORA fuel cell bus for public transportation.

        Toyota City has introduced Toyota's SORA fuel cell bus for public transportation.

        On August 8, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, held a ceremony to unveil the newly introduced "SORA," a mass-produced fuel cell bus manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation. This is the first time that the city has introduced this vehicle in the Chubu region. A total of three vehicles were leased, two of which will be used by the Toyota Oiden Bus, a community bus running in the city, starting in September, and one will be used as an official vehicle. One will be used as an official vehicle, and the other will be used as a power supply vehicle in the event of a disaster. The vehicle introduced is the improved SORA, which Toyota began selling in August, with a total length of 10525mm, width of 2490mm, height of 3350mm, and a maximum capacity of 79 passengers. Toyota's Deputy General Manager of General Affairs and Human Resources, Mr. Tadashi Kuwata, expressed his hope that many people will become familiar with the hydrogen society.                       TOKYO, Japan - A display in the head office of Hokkaido Electric Power Co. in Sapporo, Hokkaido, indicates the output of the No. 3 reactor at its Tomari nuclear power plant in the village of Tomari, Hokkaido, has fallen to zero at 11:03 p.m. on May 5, 2012.
