Volcanic eruption in southern Kyushu

FUKUOKA, Japan - Photo taken from a Kyodo News helicopter shows a continuing volcanic eruption of Mt. Shinmoe in the Kirishima mountain range, running through the border of Kagoshima and Miyazaki prefectures, on Jan. 27, 2011. The plume of smoke from the volcano reached to a height of over 2,500 meters the same day. (Kyodo)
