Gov't holds nationwide disaster drills
TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe holds a press conference at the prime minister's office in Tokyo on Sept. 1, 2014, as the government held anti-disaster drills across the country to test its emergency response. Sept. 1 is known in Japan as Disaster Prevention Day, after the huge 1923 earthquake hit the Kanto region surrounding Tokyo, killing over 100,000 people. (Kyodo)
