Ice bucket challenge draws 27 mil. yen for Japan ALS group
TOKYO, Japan - Kimiaki Kanazawa (C), secretary general of the Japan Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association, tells a press conference at the health ministry in Tokyo on Sept. 2, 2014, that the group has received a total of 27.47 million yen in donations through the ice bucket challenge from around 3,000 people in Japan and abroad in the two weeks through Aug. 31, while donations for a typical year come to around 6 million yen.
