Kyoto museum confirms long missing novel sword

KYOTO, Japan - The Kyoto National Museum displays a sword confirmed as the legendary "Shimazu Masamune" crafted by Okazaki Masamune, one of Japan's most outstanding swordsmiths active in the late Kamakura period (1192-1333), in Kyoto, western Japan, on Oct. 14, 2014. The sword had been missing for some 150 years since the Tokugawa shogunate presented it to the imperial family in the late Edo period (1603-1867). (Kyodo)
