Japan-U.S. joint drill in Aomori Pref.

MISAWA, Japan - Members of the Aomori prefectural police (R) try to assess the severity of injuries of U.S. soldiers during a joint disaster drill by local authorities and the U.S. military under the premise that a U.S. helicopter crashed and burned in Misawa, Aomori Prefecture, on Feb. 23, 2011. It was the first such exercise in Japan outside of Okinawa Prefecture which hosts the bulk of U.S. forces in Japan. Aomori Prefecture hosts Misawa Air Base. (Kyodo)
