NAGOYA, Japan - Photo taken on March 1, 2011, shows three of the world's fastest trains in their categories displayed at the SC MAGLEV and Railway Park, which will open March 14 in Nagoya. The three are (from front to back) the MLX01-1 superconducting maglev vehicle, which has set a speed record of 581 kilometers per hour, the Class 955 experimental shinkansen bullet train and the Class C62 steam locomotive.             A new shinkansen train, the E8 series, is being unloaded from a vessel at a port in the Miyagi Prefecture city of Sendai, northeastern Japan, on Jan. 29, 2023. The train will be introduced on the Yamagata Shinkansen Line in the spring of 2024, replacing the E3 series and raising the maximum speed of the service from the current 275 kilometers per hour to 300 km.
